Floral Friday Fotos 136 – Hydrangea

wpid-hydrangeam_1_wm.jpgA white/cream coloured hydrangea just coming into flower looking rather splendid. It’s certainly more unusual that the pink or blue varieties although I am given to understand that it depends on the acidity in the soil as to which colour the flowers end up.

  1. I love hydrangeas Alison, is it from your garden? How nice. My mum used to grown the purple ones quite well. I live in the tropics and have one but it doesn’t bloom anything like yours. Great photo.

      • How nice to have those to look at every day. And how nice to live near Bath Alison. I fell in love with the place when in England last year. Very friendly place.

      • Bath is a very lovely place but I’m also lucky enough to work in the city of Wells in Somerset which is also a very beautiful place. 🙂

      • We didn’t make it to Wells but I did have it on the list as it has beautiful houses there and looked great in pictures. Unfortunately it didn’t happen. Next time….

  2. The white Hydrangea I especially like, they are so apart. And I would have thought it is a special breeding. Only the blue / pink depends on the pH value of the soil – but apparently all the colors?
